We found out what kinda dog scout is...

After finding a vet in Maryland (where we live) we took scout and the vet asked do you know what kind of dog scout is? We answered as we always do..." he's a mutt but we think golden retriever and something else". She proceed to awkwardly share with us (have you ever noticed how vets are so ackward with human communication but they are great with animals?) that she thought he was a nova scotia duck tolling retriever (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&resnum=0&q=nova+scotia+duck+tolling+retriever&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=LFODSp-4OuTcmQeM3rihDQ&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1). And when we looked online we were excited to agree that that is our baby scout for sure! So now he is no longer our mutt/mini golden retriever but our nova scotia duck tolling retriever.

Grillin'

So after being married for four years and talking about how awesome it would be to have a grill and researching and researching some more we finally bought a grill! We went a little over board and bought tons of meat to grill out with and I think we have grilled out at least every other day maybe more. So that has been the big excitement for us this summer.

Off to Maine...

Umm yeah they was good lobster!

The flowers were so pretty. I don't know how they got the peonies to stay so well!

Our friends Lauren and Adam who just got married in February!

The fun never stops with us! After an appendix out and Kelli's trip to RI we were off to Maine to Joel's good friends wedding (Nicole and Bernie). It was a beautiful wedding and fun to catch up with friends! And how can you go to Maine without eating a few lobster!

Off to see my sista and her huband in RI

I went to RI for a long weekend to visit the RI Home Instead Senior Care office and visit my sister and her hubby! We had a great time and I enjoyed seeing their life there!
Isaac and I talking about the history of Providence, RI and Firewater!
SO my camera sucks that is why below the picture is all crazy like and above you can see the three of us hanging out by the Firewater dealio!

This is "Firewater" where they have fire pits along the water in downtown Providence, RI and a big festival with music and dancing and funness! They try to have one every Saturday in the summer but there isn't always funding. It is very Italianish with gondola rides and everything!
Emily was the photographer of the night and here is Isaac and Kelli walking downtown!
This is what "Firewater" looks like during the day before they start the fires!
Emily and I by a beautiful fountain very close to their house.
Close up! Definitely making us both look super hot!
Isaac trying to capture the sky with photography!

Joel decides he doesn't like his apendix anymore!

After waiting 5 days with stomach pain...joel decided it would be fun to wait in the ER in crazy pain until we could be seen by a nurse at 12:30am who couldn't get an IV started and had to call in another nurse...meanwhile Joel is vomiting and in so much pain he can't move. We finally were admitted to the hospital with surgery scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Luckily the OR became available sooner and he went into surgery, after a long night of vomiting and no sleep, at 10:30am where they found his "gangreenish" apendix just about to burst! Not how we planned on spending our weekend but glad the doctors were able to get it out and treat the infection. He is home now and doing very well:)

#4 - our anniversary!

For our 4th Anniversary we decided to go on a dinner cruise on the potomac! It was very nice...dinner, wine, dancing and DC skyline at night. It was beautiful! Four years and counting and we are still having fun!

Easter

Meg and Gabe (below) and Sara and Micah (above)

Easter was different this year because we are not near family so we had close friends come to town and we celebrated in our new home together...then the plumbing backed up and 6 people in the house with no working toilet...now that is true friendship!
